Directed by Wim Wenders | 2005

With Sam Shepard, Jessica Lange, Tim Roth

Shepard’s reunion with Wim Wenders is a spiritual companion to Paris, Texas. Here, Shepard (who also wrote the script) stars as a washed-up, hard-living movie star cowboy who walks out on his own life and embarks on a journey to Montana in search of an old flame (Lange). In the best road movie tradition, Don’t Come Knocking is alive with a sense of discovery, with Shepard’s piercing human insights complemented by Wenders’ majestic view of the American landscape.
