“General Idea...created its own unique mythology. Its conceptual art continuum used the art world to infiltrate life.”
—Canadian Art

Co-presented by Electronic Arts Intermix (EAI)

From 1969 to 1994, the artist collective General Idea—comprising members AA Bronson, Felix Partz, and Jorge Zontal—forged a unique conceptual practice deploying parody and irony as critique. This program includes Loco, a reflection on General Idea’s muse Miss General Idea, and two video works: Pilot, which takes the form of a primetime news magazine investigating the rise of General Idea from young strivers to “famous and glamourous artists,” and Test Tube, a hybrid talk show/soap opera/infomercial.
