Directed by Jonathan Demme | 2004

The first of three concert films Demme made with Neil Young finds the beloved troubadour in a mellow, introspective mood. Filmed at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium shortly after Young’s surgery for a brain aneurysm, Heart of Gold imparts a sense of autumnal serenity as the legend, backed by Emmylou Harris, delivers moving renditions of tracks from his then-new album Prairie Wind and classics from his iconic back catalogue.
