Stormy Weather (screening with Now)
- 7:30PM
Horne delivers a showstopping rendition of the title song in this musical retelling of the life and times of its star, legendary dancer Bill Robinson. One of the rare Hollywood films of its era to feature an all-black cast, Stormy Weather is above all a showcase for a staggering array of talent including Horne, plus Cab Calloway and his band playing “Jumpin’ Jive,” the Nicholas Brothers tapping up a storm, and Fats Waller performing “Ain’t Misbehavin.”

Horne’s music is set to civil rights-era newsreel footage in this hard-hitting anti-racist short.
