The heist movie meets Euro glam for the height of swinging ‘60s British cool. Michael Caine is the Cockney crook who, with Noël Coward’s gentlemanly crime boss, puts together a plot just crazy enough to work: creating a massive Turin traffic jam in order to make off with $4 million in gold. It all builds to a rip-roaring chase in a fleet of Mini Coopers and a cliff-hanging climax.
