Directed by Michelangelo Antonioni | 1970

With Mark Frechette, Daria Halprin, Rod Taylor

Shepard co-wrote Antonioni’s sole American film, a stunning, lysergic vision of existential angst and alienation set against the student riots and free love vibes of California’s hippie counterculture. Met with incomprehension upon its release, Zabriskie Point looks, in retrospect, like one of the most radical works of anti-capitalist art ever released by a major American movie studio.
