Silkwood
- 7PM
Meryl Streep stars as Karen Silkwood in this true-life tale of the nuclear technician who blew the whistle on unsafe working conditions at her Oklahoma power plant—only to die under mysterious circumstances. In the hands of director Mike Nichols and the naturalistic performance of its star, Silkwood is both a portrait of blue collar American life and a chilling capitalist horror story. The strikingly feminist (and queer positive) tone is thanks in no small part to a script by Nora Ephron and Alice Arlen.
