In need of an escape from the city, 30-something chef Tyler (Mitchell) decides to join a friend for a weekend birthday party in the Catskills. What he doesn’t know is that he’ll be the only black guy in a group of white dudes with a penchant for Irish coffees, testosterone-fueled one-upmanship, and REM. As the brotastic, booze-soaked bonding turns increasingly isolating, Tyler’s sense of unease mounts—is he just paranoid or is something seriously sinister afoot? Button-pushing auteur Sebastián Silva (The Maid, Crystal Fairy) brilliantly wrings tension from the charged racial dynamics of everyday life to deliver what “may be one of the most terrifying non-horror movies you’ll ever see” (Paste).
