Directed by Wu Tsang | 2012

2018 MacArthur Genius Grant Winner, Wu Tsang’s colorfully imaginative documentary chronicles the life, death, and afterlife of the Silver Platter, a Los Angeles bar that for decades was a haven for Latinx queer and transgender communities—until a weekly party began attracting a new crowd of young artists. Narrated by the bar itself, WILDNESS is a heady, thought-provoking consideration of safe spaces: their meaning, necessity, and fragility.
