A Rage in Harlem
- 9:15PM
Formidable character actor and occasional director Bill Duke brings wit and style to this snappy adaptation of a novel by genre-bending black crime writer Chester Himes, in which a gangster’s moll in possession of a trunk full of gold finds herself on the run through 1950s Harlem. The sparky ensemble cast—including Danny Glover as a Pekingese-cuddling mobster—keeps things lively in a hardboiled homage that does full justice to Himes’ edgy, iconoclastic vision.
