Anna Rose Holmer Presents Au Hasard Balthazar
- 7PM
This monthly series brings a prominent artistic or cultural figure to BAM to discuss the film that inspired their passion for cinema, followed by a screening of the film.
“Everyone who sees this film will be absolutely astonished because it is really the world in an hour and a half,” remarked Jean-Luc Godard about Robert Bresson’s masterpiece—perhaps the apotheosis of the director’s transcendentally austere style—which finds sublime spiritual resonances in the twin journeys of a teenage girl growing unsteadily into adulthood and a gentle donkey who passes from master to master.

Go to the movies just once a month and a BAM membership pays for itself.
