Baby Boy
- 2PM
Returning to his South Central LA roots, Singleton takes a bold, incisive look at black masculinity via the story of Jody (played by Tyrese Gibson in his film debut), an aimless, unemployed 20-year-old struggling to grow up and take responsibility for his life and two kids. The director himself named Baby Boy as the film he was most proud of, saying: “I made a movie that I wanted to be as soulful as a Marvin Gaye record.”
