Creatively Speaking presents Through Her Eyes: The Personal is Political
The celebration and respect of women of color continues to be an underrepresented notion in mainstream media. This series offers a selection of films, all made by women of color, that cover a range of contemporary topics.
Michelle Materre has more than 30 years of experience as a film producer, writer, arts administrator, and distribution and marketing specialist. She co-curated 2017’s widely celebrated series One Way or Another: Black Women’s Cinema, 1970-1991, which received a Film Heritage Award from the National Society of Film Critics and was called “the most important repertory series of the year” by The New Yorker.
