Romero teamed up with Stephen King for this retro-fantastic homage to the pulp-horror EC Comics of the 1950s and 60s, a compendium of five macabre moral tales featuring a zombie dad back for Father’s Day, a cavalcade of cockroaches, and King himself as an unlucky country boy sprouting alien vegetation. Working in an appropriately eye-popping color palette, Romero achieves a perfect blend of knowing camp and genuine chills.
