Directed by Mark Sandrich | 1935

With Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Edward Everett Horton

Film history’s most iconic dance duo, Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, reached new heights of cinematic elegance in what is perhaps the finest of their 10 collaborations. Set against an Art Deco dreamscape vision of London and Venice, it’s a practically flawless showcase for the blend of swooning romance, wisecracking comedy, and breathtaking choreography—particularly the transcendent “Cheek to Cheek” number—which the pair perfected.

Inspired by the Screen Epiphanies series at London's BFI Southbank
