Dir. Dieudo Hamadi | 2014, 92min
With Youssouf Djaoro, Diouc Koma, Emile Abossolo M’Bo
In French and Arabic with English subtitles

“A remarkable piece of cinéma vérité. National Diploma is proof of Hamadi as one of Democratic Republic of Congo's (if not Africa's) most observant documentary-makers.”
—The Hollywood Reporter

This gripping documentary follows a group of Congolese high-school students as they prepare to take the state exam in the Democratic Republic of Congo. With unique insight, director Dieudo Hamadi captures them from the benches of the school they’re regularly ejected from because they haven't paid the fees unfairly inflicted upon them, to the communal house where they gather to study, to the chaotic city streets of Kisangani where they try to find a living.

Proceeds from virtual screenings support African Film Festival, Inc., and BAM.

Please note we are not able to offer member discounts on at-home film screenings at this time.
