Shola Amoo’s semi-autobiographical story about a British boy of Nigerian heritage who leaves his foster home in rural England to live with his birth mother in inner-city London.

In Shola Amoo’s semi-autobiographical story, Femi, a British boy of Nigerian heritage is raised in foster care in rural Lincolnshire. When he moves to inner-city London to live with his birth mother, he struggles with the culture and values of his new environment. Femi must decide which path to adulthood he wants to take, and what it means to be a young black man in London during the early 2000s.
