Alone in a car for the entire length of the film, Tom Hardy delivers a virtual one-man tour-de-force in this gripping, boldly conceived snapshot of a life in breakdown. While en route to the hospital to attend the birth of a child he has fathered out of wedlock, Locke, a family man and construction worker, becomes increasingly harried over the course of a string of several speakerphone conversations. As he sees his entire life and career seemingly unravel, the claustrophobic tension rises with every hairpin twist and turn.
