Part of Film series BAMcinemaFest 2021

Dir. Bassam Tariq | 2020
With Riz Ahmed, Alyy Khan, Sudha Buchar
In English and Urdu with English subtitles for all dialogue.

Zed, a young British rapper, is about to start his first world tour when a crippling autoimmune illness strikes him down. Forced to move back in with his family, he struggles to find himself as he’s torn between an international music career and his traditional Pakistani family. Rapper-actor Riz Ahmed turns in an incendiary, loosely autobiographical performance in Bassam Tariq’s narrative debut feature about cultural repression and the complications of identity.

Post-screening Q&A with writer/director Bassam Tariq and writer/actor Riz Ahmed.

This event includes closed captioning.
