Duelle
In the 1970s, Rivette “continued his march toward abstraction” (The New York Times) by reuniting with the producer of his legendary Out 1 for a series of films. Duelle, co-written by Rivette’s partner Marilù Parolini, was the first completed film of the tetralogy and stands as one of Rivette’s most striking and beguiling works. This experimental fantasy drama follows the Queen of the Sun (Ogier) and the Queen of the Night (Berto) as they search for a magical diamond that will allow them to remain in modern-day Paris indefinitely.
