Starring Richard Pryor, Cicely Tyson, Robert Christian
Richard Pryor stars as a man on parole trying—and failing—to calmly escort a group of children and their attractive teacher (Tyson) across the country in this wacky 70s comedy, which only Pryor could pull off.
Richard Pryor is a fast-talking, foul-mouthed man on parole trying—and failing—to keep on the straight and narrow when he is tasked with driving a class of schoolchildren across the country. Cicely Tyson is the attractive schoolmarm in charge, determined to set up her new school in the Pacific Northwest. The result is a wacky road trip comedy—filled with racially-charged cons, run-ins with the Klan, and the softening of one man’s hardened heart—that only Pryor could pull off.
