Brett Morgen’s award-winning 2007 film tells the story of the anti-Vietnam War protestors who were put on trial following their demonstrations at the 1968 Chicago Democratic National Convention. Using archival footage and animated recreations voiced by a well-known cast, Morgen deftly portrays the eight defendants who were accused of multiple federal crimes—including conspiracy and driving across state lines to incite riots—and ultimately became the faces of a movement.
