The Wobblies
- 5:30PM
This sweeping documentary tracks the historic creation of “The Wobblies,” the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW). In an unprecedented movement that crossed racial and gender divides, the union sprang up in 1905 to fight for better working conditions for everyday “unskilled” laborers in Chicago. In this oral history, filmmakers Shaffer and Bird intertwine archival footage with original art, classic Wobbly songs, and interviews with original IWW members to capture a movement that is still radical today as it unites blue-collar workers across industries.
