Women Talking
Rooney Mara, Claire Foy, and Frances McDormand lead an impressive ensemble in this rich, poignant drama. Based on the best-selling novel by Miriam Toews, Women Talking follows a group of Mennonite women in an isolated colony who are struggling to reconcile their faith with a series of sexual assaults committed by the colony’s men. In her long-awaited return to narrative feature films, director Sarah Polley (Take This Waltz) crafts a beautiful, gripping, and surprisingly warm exploration of women torn between faith, forgiveness, survival, and retribution.
