Will-o’-the-Wisp
Portuguese auteur João Pedro Rodrigues (O Fantasma, To Die Like a Man) returns with a joy-inducing queer love story unlike any other. On his deathbed in the year 2069, his royal highness Alfredo (Mauro Costa), crown prince of Portugal, recalls an unusual chapter of his youth, when his environmental passion led him to become a fireman. During his training in the fire brigade, Alfredo sparks up a flirtation with his instructor Alfonso (André Cabral) that soon leads to an intense and radical romance. Full of musical numbers and homages to Greta Thunberg, Will-o’-the-Wisp electrifies with the singular wit and frank sexuality that have come to define the work of its incomparable maker.
