Celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s life and legacy and learn more about all kinds of heroes of color throughout history, including artists, scientists, activists, and more. Through virtual workshops, videos, and activities, kids are invited to learn more about underrepresented figures and create their own heroes and zines at home!

David Heredia (he/him) is an animator, speaker, and author of Little Heroes of Color (Scholastic, 2019). His company Heroes of Color has been featured by the New York Times, NPR, Telemundo, and PBS. He runs live and virtual workshops celebrating trailblazers of color and has delivered corporate diversity workshops for The Walt Disney Company, as well as art and business workshops at universities and film festivals.

Join us in person or via livestream for this beloved Brooklyn tradition, which honors Dr. King’s radical spirit with music, dance, and an invigorating call to action, led by keynote speaker Dr. Imani Perry.
