Visitors can stop by the BAM Fisher to record and interact with personal histories and touchstone moments from people’s lives via recordings and a listening wall—where people record short conversations with a friend or family member with their smart phones and upload them onto StoryCorps’ Wall of Listening online. Additionally, film audiences will be treated to StoryCorps’ short story animations in the BAM Rose Cinemas prior to first-run films.

The public may also make an appointment to record a full-length StoryCorps entry. Each participant gets a broadcast quality copy of their story, and the recording is preserved at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress. All available StoryCorps interview appointments have been reserved. Please send an email to bam@storycorps.org with your name, phone number, and date(s)/time(s) you would be able to do an interview. You will be placed on a waiting list, and contacted if an appointment becomes available.

StoryCorps is one of the largest oral history projects of its kind, and millions listen to the weekly broadcasts on NPR’s Morning Edition and on Storycorps.org. The project serves as an independent nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide people of all backgrounds and beliefs with the opportunity to record, share, and preserve the stories of people’s lives. Since 2003, StoryCorps has collected and archived more than 50,000 interviews with nearly 90,000 participants.
