Unbound: Elvis Costello with Rosanne Cash
- 7:30PM
In conversation with Rosanne Cash
Co-presented by BAM and Greenlight Bookstore
Elvis Costello celebrates the launch of his idiosyncratic new memoir, Unfaithful Music & Disappearing Ink, offering his unique view of his unlikely rise to success, from playing a cardboard guitar in his living room to fronting a rock ’n’ roll band and performing in the world’s greatest concert halls. Written entirely by Costello himself and spanning the course of his nearly four-decade career, the book contains many stories and observations about the London-born singer-songwriter’s renowned co-writers and co-conspirators, while also pausing along the way for considerations of the less appealing side of fame.
Singer-songwriter Rosanne Cash has released 15 albums, including 11 no. 1 singles, and has earned four Grammy Awards and 11 nominations. She is the author of four books, including the best-selling memoir Composed, and her essays have appeared in The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Oxford-American, and The Nation. In recent seasons, Cash has given concerts at the Spoleto Festival, Toronto’s Luminato Festival, and New Haven’s Festival of Arts and Ideas, and has collaborated with the Minnesota Orchestra, Lincoln Center, and San Francisco Jazz.
