The founder and bassist of Sonic Youth talks about her influences and contemporaries—in conjunction with the release of her new memoir, Girl in a Band—in this intimate conversation interspersed with film selections. The event will be moderated by Margaret Bodde, film producer and Executive Director of The Film Foundation, and will be followed by a book signing.
Margaret Bodde is the Emmy Award-winning producer of George Harrison: Living in the Material World (2011), directed by Martin Scorsese, and the producer of The 50 Year Argument (2014); Public Speaking (2010); the Grammy-winning documentary No Direction Home: Bob Dylan (2005); and the PBS series Martin Scorsese Presents the Blues. Bodde is also the executive director of the Film Foundation, a nonprofit organization created by Scorsese in 1990 which raises awareness and funds for film preservation.
