What if they went to Moscow?
Conceived and directed by Christiane Jatahy
Based on the text Three Sisters by Anton Chekhov

BAM DEBUT

Two audiences arrive: one starts at the BAM Fisher, the other at BAM Rose Cinemas. Both see the same performance, but through two very different lenses: theater and film, created and transmitted live. Then, cut. Intermission. The audiences switch places.

In this lush production from Brazilian director Christiane Jatahy, a single story creates two worlds. Across stage and screen, What if they went to Moscow? reveals new possibilities in storytelling, casting the viewer as an active participant in interpretation.

Dramaturgy by Christiane Jatahy
Set design by Marcelo Lilpiani
Musical direction by Domenico Lancelotti

Co-produced by Le CentQuatre (Paris, France), Zurcher Theaterspektakel (Zurich, Switzerland), and SESC (Rio de Janeiro / Sáo Paulo, Brazil).
