A former member of the popular New York band Yerba Buena, Havana-born vocalist and percussionist Pedrito Martinez is "an incomparable performer" (The New York Times) and master of the sultry Afro-Cuban rumba. Featured briefly in the critically lauded Cuban music documentary Calle 54, Martinez and his crack conga playing have been heard in engagements with Paquito D'Rivera, Eddie Palmieri, Arturo O'Farrill, Joe Lavano, Sting, and countless others, as well as with his own group's weekly gigs at Manhattan's Cuban hotspot Guantanamera.
