“Creole-sung songs with a rhythmic sensibility that will rattle your ears and shake your brain.”
—Sea of Tranquility

Combining the traditional gwo ka drum rhythm of its native Guadeloupe with electric guitars and bass-heavy grooves, this self-described “voodoo rock band” creates adventurous Caribbean-inflected prog rock. With lyrics in Creole, Grand Baton blends Guadeloupean folk music and modern electronica; the ensemble’s forthcoming album moves further into computer-generated dubstep beats while maintaining its Caribbean roots.
