“Quite possibly the most convincing treatment of New Orleans by a non-native since Hugh Masekela's ‘Goin' Back to New Orleans’.”
—PopMatters

A costumed street band in the tradition of New Orleans’ boisterous second-line parade ensembles, Revolutionary Snake Ensemble does funk the flamboyant way. Saxophonist-composer Ken Field (Birdsongs of the Mesozoic) leads the charge, summoning the spirits of Sun Ra, Parliament Funkadelic, James Brown, and a whole litany of Crescent City greats to the stage in this BAMcafé Live barn burner—just in time for Mardi Gras.
