For nearly 50 years, John Cale has thrived at the vanguard of a myriad of popular music styles, having founded the Velvet Underground, and collaborated with such artists as Patti Smith, John Cage, La Monte Young, LCD Soundsystem, Danger Mouse, and more. This January, he comes to BAM to present two special programs.
In Paris 1919, Cale is accompanied by the Wordless Music Orchestra to perform his introspective 1973 pop-art landmark, plus selections from his remarkable career and new material from his latest album, Shifty Adventures in Nookie Wood.
