Ethnomusicologist Brian Shimkovitz, the writer behind the popular blog Awesome Tapes From Africa, spins some of the best of the folkloric pop, left-field dance-floor gems, and hip-hop bangers from his massive collection of ultra-rare African cassette tape finds. This eye- and ear-opening DJ set will introduce listeners to some of the most obscure and wonderful sounds from across the continent.
