King Sunny Adé is the undisputed king of juju, the high-energy, highly danceable hybrid of Western pop and traditional African music with roots in the guitar tradition of Nigeria. With a diverse and impressive roster of collaborators, including Youssou N’Dour and Stevie Wonder, Adé has also had an influence on Talking Heads, David Bowie, and others. He comes to MetroTech as a part of his first North American tour in seven years.

Due to unforeseen complications, King Sunny Adé & His Africa Beats can no longer join us at MetroTech on July 2. Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaires will be performing instead.
