With a name as lyrical as hers, Nasimiyu Murumba may have been destined to be a musician.
—Vogue

World beat meets indie folk in the exuberant sounds of multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter Nasimiyu. “Picture the soulful ringleader of a circus-folk orchestra” is how Okayplayer aptly describes Nasimiyu’s style, in which the orchestral indie rock of Dirty Projects and TV on the Radio collides with tribal rhythms and beatboxing breakdowns. She takes the stage at BAMcafé fresh from receiving attention in the pages of Vogue, Spin, and Nylon for her latest EP.

BAMcafé Live Host: Phillip Andry
BAMcafé Live House DJ: DJ Idlemind “The Appropriate Agent”
