“A multiracial jam army that freestyles with cool telekinesis between the lustrous menace of Miles Davis’ On The Corner, the slash-and-om of 1970s King Crimson, and Jimi Hendrix’ moonwalk across side three of Electric Ladyland.”
—Rolling Stone (on Burnt Sugar Arkestra)

An offshoot of the legendary Burnt Sugar Arkestra—once described by Robert Christgau as “electric Miles with soul, ‘Maggot’ with a Ph.D., the Hendrix-Evans band of dreams&rdquol—REBELLUM is boundary-pushing jazz-funk at its most enlightened and experimental. Led by visionary composer, conductor, and Black Rock Coalition co-founder Greg Tate, REBELLUM delivers offbeat soul harmonies, swinging horn lines, and Hendrix-meets-Funkadelic guitar solos.

BAMcafé Live Host: Phillip Andry
