“the rare American jazzman who draws on the legacy of Fela Kuti as much as that of Miles Davis.”
—The Wall Street Journal

Grandson of the jazz legend Doc Cheatham, trumpeter and composer Theo Croker is a rising star in his own right, having performed with such greats as Benny Powell, Billy Hart, and Marcus Belgrave. Merging genres and idioms, he pushes traditional compositional elements into new forms—and after the 2014 release of his celebrated album AfroPhysicist, Croker is seen as one of the most promising and talented trumpeters working today.
