Valerie June
- 4PM
Fort Greene Park (Myrtle Ave lawn)
Tennessee-bred singer-songwriter Valerie June brings her blend of folk, soul, gospel, country, blues, psychedelia, and symphonic pop to the urban oasis of Fort Greene Park, sharing music from her latest full-length album, The Moon and Stars: Prescriptions for Dreamers. Co-produced with Jack Splash (Kendrick Lamar, Alicia Keys, John Legend), its songs have a singular sound, made distinct by June’s spellbinding vocals, depth, and sense of joyful possibility.
LA-based, folk-punk musician, Sunny War will open for Valerie June. Her latest album, Simple Syrup, is vibrant and loose.
