Join Grammy winner and National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master Jack DeJohnette and guests for a one-of-a-kind performance. In a career that spans five decades, DeJohnette has established a reputation as one of the greatest drummers in jazz history. DeJohnette's creative associations have included John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Ornette Coleman, Sonny Rollins, Thelonious Monk, Bill Evans, Stan Getz, Keith Jarrett, Chet Baker, George Benson, Stanley Turrentine, Herbie Hancock, Dave Holland, Joe Henderson, Freddy Hubbard, Betty Carter, and many more. Along the way, he has developed a versatility for hard bop, R&B, avant-garde, and just about every other style to emerge in the past half-century.
Matthew Garrison is a bass player, producer, composer, and entrepreneur who has toured with Herbie Hancock, Joe Zawinul, John McLaughlin, and Whitney Houston. He is cofounder of Brooklyn-based creative performance organization ShapeShifter Plus.
Don Byron is an acclaimed recording artist, Grammy nominee, and Pulitzer Prize finalist who plays clarinet, bass clarinet, and saxophone across musical genres.
Luisito Quintero is a percussionist who has recorded and played live with Tito Puente, Gloria Estefan, Natalie Cole, Herbie Hancock, and Nuyorican Soul.
Zig Zag Power Trio: Vernon Reid is lead guitarist of Living Colour and a cofounder of the Black Rock Coalition. He undermines stereotypical expectations of what music Black artists ought to play by encompassing everything from hard rock and punk to funk, R&B, and avant-garde jazz. He is joined by Will Calhoun on drums and Melvin Gibbs on bass.
Roy Wood Jr. is an American humorist, comedian, radio personality, actor, producer, podcaster, and writer. He has served as a correspondent for The Daily Show with Trevor Noah on Comedy Central since 2015.
