UK-based artist Selina Thompson has a lot of questions for you. With a sense of humor and pathos, she offers 1,000 thought-starters on race and identity and posts them on the gallery wall.
Audience members are invited to answer one question of their choosing, or open themselves up to fate. Race Cards is less about answers and more about how you respond when faced with a tough question.

In this epic feat of endurance theater, actress Alia Shawkat performs the same scene—inspired by Cassavetes’ meta-theatrical film Opening Night—100 times, with 100 different men, each with disarmingly divergent results.
Bear witness via smartphone to a stranger’s profound personal experience in this site-specific play, which contemplates our afterlife on the internet and our shifting notions of connection.
With no stage and no performers, this hands-on communal experience is an intimate shared adventure through the particularities and nuances of our tactile sense.
This 10-minute animated, graffiti-style street opera is projected onto the BAM Peter Jay Sharp Building and broadcast to audience members’ headphones, inviting passersby to drop by, tune in, and find out what happens.
