Professional teaching artists unite creativity and learning in these hands-on programs that bring spoken word and African dance into your virtual classroom

Invigorate your curriculum with music, movement, poetry, and performance. In these workshop-style programs in African dance and spoken word, students let their creativity shine and develop a deeper understanding of the arts while building skills in areas such as literacy, research, and communication.

BAM’s In-School Residencies provide teachers with strategies and classroom tools tailored to city and state learning standards, Common Core State Standards, and the Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in the Arts. All students who participate are eligible to apply for the Samuel H. Scripps Scholarships, which offers funding for students pursuing higher education in the arts.
