The Second Woman
Created by Nat Randall and Anna Breckon
BAM DEBUT
One woman. 100 men. 24 hours.
In this epic feat of endurance theater, actress Alia Shawkat (Arrested Development, Search Party) performs the same scene—inspired by Cassavetes’ meta-theatrical 1977 film Opening Night—100 times, with 100 disarmingly different results. The Second Woman is a raw examination of men and women and the gendered conventions of emotions.
Stay for 24 minutes or the full 24 hours, drop in once or return to see more—the choice is yours.
What if I have to go to the bathroom? Will there be food? What if I need to charge my phone? We answer all your burning questions here.
