and On Truth (and Lies) 2012—13
Co-Presented with the Onassis Cultural Center NY
What is the truth? Simon Critchley, one of today's leading
contemporary philosophers and moderator of the popular New York
Times philosophy series "The Stone," presents On Truth (and
Lies), a new conversation series that encourages audiences to
abandon their convictions at the door and explore the ambiguity of
reality.
For this installment, Critchley explores the truth and lies of
contemporary art by way of French-Algerian artist and filmmaker
Phillipe Parreno, whose work examines the ambiguous line between
artistic creation and re-creation, fetish and authenticity. The
evening will conclude with a Q&A and reception.
