Dave Isay, founder of StoryCorps, talks with Weekend Edition Saturday host, Scott Simon. StoryCorps’ mission is to provide people of all backgrounds and beliefs with the opportunity to record, preserve, and share their stories.

Dave Isay is the recipient of numerous broadcasting honors, including six Peabody Awards and a MacArthur Fellowship. Peabody-Award-winning Scott Simon has reported from all 50 states, five continents, and 10 wars, from El Salvador to Sarajevo to Afghanistan and Iraq. Simon is the author of Home and Away: Memoir of a Fan, Jackie Robinson and the Integration of Baseball, Pretty Birds, and Windy City.
