Introductions by Carole Satyamurti
Accompaniment by Amit Chatterjee (sarod) and Apratim Majumdar (tabla)

In conjunction with Battlefield

BAM hosts a day-long reading of The Mahabharata in conjunction with Peter Brook and Marie-Hélène Estienne’s revisiting of the Indian epic’s central section in this season’s Battlefield. Members of the public are also welcome to attend and listen at any point throughout the afternoon as readers of all ages read selections from Carole Satyamurti’s recent English retelling of the epic (published by W. W. Norton & Company, Inc.).

Each hour will feature an introduction of the selected passages by Carole Satyamurti, a brief group vocal warm-up, live musical accompaniment, a reading of the highlighted section, and a short discussion. Copies of Satyamurti's award-winning book will be available for purchase and signing.

No RSVP or ticket purchase necessary to attend. Sign up online to reserve a spot to read. Reading slots may also be available on a drop in basis.
