New York City’s largest public celebration in honor of iconic civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. returns to BAM for the 32nd year. This event brings world-renowned activists, intellectuals, and civic leaders together with musicians and other performers to pay tribute to King’s legacy and keep his message alive. Join us for full day of free events, including a movie screening, a talk, and an art exhibition.
Keynote Speaker: Jelani Cobb

The veteran soul vocalist and songwriter, best known as a member of eclectic soul and acid jazz quartet Cooly’s Hot Box, performs songs from her self-assured sixth album.

Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors and author asha bandele celebrate the launch of When They Call You a Terrorist: A Black Lives Matter Memoir.

Lee’s longtime dream project is an “immensely dignified and moving” (The New York Times) portrait of four African-American Sunday school students killed in a 1963 bombing in Birmingham, Alabama.
