By Tennessee Williams
Directed by Benedict Andrews

This screening was recorded from an earlier live performance.

National Theatre Live presents a broadcast of Tennessee Williams’ timeless masterpiece A Streetcar Named Desire, in a new production from London’s Young Vic. Gillian Anderson (The X-Files, The Fall) stars as Blanche DuBois, Ben Foster (Lone Survivor, Kill Your Darlings) is Stanley Kowalski, and Vanessa Kirby (BBC’s Great Expectations, Three Sisters at the Young Vic) plays Stella Kowalski.

As Blanche’s fragile world crumbles, she turns to her sister Stella for solace—but her downward spiral brings her face to face with the brutal, unforgiving Stanley. Visionary director Benedict Andrews returns to the Young Vic following the success of his Critics’ Circle Award-winning production of Chekhov’s Three Sisters.
