Towards a New Archaeology brings together artists who reevaluate the history of material culture—presenting installation, painting, and sculptural works that speak to a mystical, transcendent, and visionary future.

Amy Brener’s hanging sculptures juxtapose utilitarian objects—forks, hardware, paperclips, and other tools—alongside ferns and pressed flowers encased in layers of tinted silicone. Like talismanic skins, these pieces are urgent beacons of an unknown future awaiting their own discovery. With determined precision, they evoke utility garments outfitted with ingredients prescribed in neatly arranged compartments, eventually to be reconfigured into specialized tools for a new society.
